For decades, the web lived on TCP. But TCP was born in an era of stable wires. In the mobile-first world, we need something better: QUIC.

Why TCP is the Bottleneck

TCP requires a multi-step handshake for every connection. If you're on a flaky mobile network, losing a single packet can block the entire data stream. This is called Head-of-Line Blocking.

How QUIC Fixes the Web

  • UDP-Based: QUIC lives on UDP, bypassing the slow TCP handshake.
  • 0-RTT Handshake: If you've visited a site before, QUIC can send data in the very first packet.
  • Connection Migration: Move from Wi-Fi to 5G without dropping your session.

HTTP/3 is effectively "HTTP over QUIC," and it's already powering major sites like Google and Facebook.
