Marketing promised 1ms latency with 5G. Reality is often 30ms+.

1. Non-Standalone (NSA) - The Fake 5G

Carriers used 5G NSA for fast deployment. Your phone connects to 5G towers for bandwidth (Download speed), but uses the old 4G LTE core network for signaling (Latency).

2. Standalone (SA) - The Real Deal

True low latency requires a 5G Core (5GC) network. Until your carrier switches to SA, that "5G" icon is mostly just a bandwidth boost.
