Old Geo - stationary satellites sit 35,000 km away(Ping: 600ms).Starlink sits ~550 km away(Ping: 30 - 50ms).But Starlink satellites move fast(27,000 km / h).

The Handover Problem

Your dish (Dishy) can only see a satellite for a few minutes before it disappears over the horizon. It must seamlessly switch connections to the next satellite.

While improving, these handovers can cause micro-packet loss or jitter spikes. For Netflix, this is invisible. For Zoom/Gaming, it manifests as a sudden "skip" every few minutes.
